Iam conducting tests on my new camera and i thought you might like to see the results or even post any tests on this thread so everyone can see the results.Here is my zoom test
Fixed lighting (my usual rig)
No Post production
Cropped and converted from tiff to jpeg for posting
P.S. can you spot me?

@Bill: thanks for the sample! If you compare the colors from the sample sheet before/after (or original/traveler), can you make out big differences?

PS: I also performed some tests here. Compared to my Canon EOS 400D (with which I can hardly see any color deviations), the result of the DC-XZ6 is rather good. However, these things are not so easy to judge. Color deviations also arise during the print process or on the monitor to a higher extend than in the camera...

Hello Kacki,

I have just found your tests.They are excellent and it is obvious the 40D is superior but not by Kilometres! and what would have been the result from one of the fabled Main Brand compacts I wonder ??

A very good macro. Why did you use ISO 400? Isn't there some noise on the full size photograph?

It is Super Macro and It "IS" the whole photo and I used ISO 400 to show the camera "snobs" on Dpreview how small the noise is on a Traveler @ ISO 400
Try and get "real" close with your DC-ZX6 its amazing.

That's a good reason for using ISO 400. 51.gif
Usually I use ISO 64. At work I compared 3 cams using macro and supermacro: http://traveler-forum.de/phpmyforum/topic.php?id=2856&

My new car is also supermacro...

Not really. The DC80sz is optical the same to the DC-XZ6. Nearer I got trouble with the depth of field. My tabletts were convex. We solved this problem by using the canon 350D (bought by the employer). The DC-8600 was not yet availlable.

My third cam in this test - the X6 - is no competition.

This is my kit car that I built in 1987 It is called a Magenta Tarragon TXR and it is really just a toy these days.

(There is only one in the world like this one).

However,in its day it has been to the "Old Timer Grand Prix" on at least 2 occasions (Nurburgring) ZEHR GUT and over the Fern Pass to Austria & Italy Great fun !!
I currently run around in a boring ford fiesta 1.8D
